Where will Velvet Betty go?

Velvet Betty is happy to travel anywhere within the Perth Metropolitan area and can even go further afield (up to an hour from the Perth CBD). There are small travel costs associated outside of 30km of the Perth CBD. If your wedding or event is outside of this area, please contact us for a quote. We love to explore those gorgeous destinations and venues that are that little bit unusual.

What is provided with Velvet Betty?

She comes with her own built in fridges, ice chests, ice, commercial coffee machine, coffee consumables if desired, vintage props and pretty stuff such as bunting, fairy lights etc, all drink ware as well as RSA qualified bar staff and trained baristas. All we really require is access to power, however in circumstances where this is not possible, we can even provide that too. Then all you have to do is provide whatever it is you would like us to serve. It’s as simple as that!

How much does Velvet Betty cost?

Mobile bar packages are tailored to suit the amount of time you would like service for as well as how many guest you have attending. Packages can also include our giant lawn games and a hot beverage service if you desire. Can the lawn games be hired separately?

Most certainly. All our lawn games can be hired separately or with Velvet Betty – The Vintage Caravan. A 50% deposit is required to secure the booking and there will be a 50% refundable bond required on pick up.

Do you have cancellation fees?

Yes. Once your event is confirmed the date is yours… we take no other bookings despite other requests we get for your day. A 50% ‘deposit’ is required at the time of booking, and the ‘balance’ due 60 days prior to your event. For cancellations more than 30 days out from your event, 50% of your quoted/invoiced fee will be refunded. For cancellations within 30 days of your event no refund will apply. Please note deposits are non-refundable.

Do you provide the alcohol?

No… and that’s what make us better than using a traditional bar – there’s no mark up on the alcohol. You provide the alcohol and we serve it – we can also help you to work out how much alcohol is needed for your number of guests and your selected drinks list. Also, many local bottle shops have a policy that will enable you to return unopened cartons of unchilled leftover alcohol. Our prices include professional, qualified bar staff.

Is it just bar service?

Generally, Yes, we prefer to serve from the bar and to leave your guests to mingle. Although we will head out to collect any empty bottle and glasses that are put down by your guests so as to not spoil all the effort that went into styling your event. This creates a unique style in itself and we have found that guests really enjoy the novelty of being able to go to a bar and not actually pay.

Do I have to pay delivery/travel fees?

Delivery and travel is free for up to 35 kilometres radius of the Perth CBD. For venues more distant than this, we may need to impose a travel fee. For events over 100 KM from the CBD, we will also require overnight accomodation for all attending staff members.

We need a pop-up cafe at our function – can you help?

Yes, definitely! Let us create a café with a twist at your next event. A vintage café in a retro caravan is perfect for a conference, corporate event, expo, school fetes and festivals, or community events and fairs. Velvet Betty comes with trained baristas that will be sure to impress.

Can we party in the park?

This is dependant on the Council that ‘owns’ your desired public space. We have found that many Perth Council’s are open to events held in their public spaces, however their permission is required and a fee may be payable by you. Should you choose to go for a public space, we will require confirmation of their approval with your booking of Velvet Betty. Please keep in mind that you will need to consider access for Velvet Betty and also that power is required. However, if it is not available, we can provide you with access to a generator.

Can I use your van for a product launch or photo-shoot?

Absolutely! We’re always keen to promote and work with like-minded businesses, charities and creatives. Velvet Betty looks very pretty in photos and will create a buzz at promotional events. If you’re looking to undertake a unique ‘marketing exercise’ for your brand with a retro caravan please give us a call!

Do you attend fetes, festivals, markets and fairs?

Yes! We are available for markets, fairs, festivals and fetes around Perth.

Do you require power and water?

Velvet Betty does not require water so we can operate anywhere, anytime. However we do need power. For parties held in a park, hirers will need to cover the cost of a generator if power is not available through the local council.

Do you provide tables and chairs?

Unfortunately we do not provide tables and chairs. These can be hired by the party host or we can organise it on your behalf.
