Magical Glenforrest wedding

When we took over Velvet Betty in April this year, we reached out to past clients to tell them Betty was open for bookings once again.

One of the very first replies we got was from Katie (and Katie’s mum, because as it turns out, we’d emailed them both - oops!). Katie’d enquired about having Betty at her wedding earlier in the year, but she’d given up on the idea thinking Betty was out of action forever. So, when we got in touch to say we were we were available, she was stoked (and so were we - definite happy dance that day).

With Katie’s mum as chief organiser (and dressmaker - yep, she made Katie’s dress!) we knew it was going to be a very special wedding, but when we arrived for our first site visit we were absolutely blown away. The family property the wedding was to be at was BREATHTAKING - surrounded by the natural environment, it really was like nothing we’d seen before.

Katie and Glen’s wedding was a true joy to be part of. Gorgeous venue, beautiful family, lovely guests (we made new friends! A tea expert, a skipper and more!) and the sweetest couple, plus the honour of coming back the next morning to give our congratulations over tea and coffee.

On the menu: barista coffee, premium teas from Rubra and hot chocolate. Plus, wedding cake slicing and service, lawn games and morning after coffees!

Drink of the day: oat milk flat whites for the win.

Best bit: so many we’ve already mentioned, but on top of those we discovered Kind Culture catering (who we now get weekly meals delivered from).

Lessons learnt: power issues are a cinch when the property owner is an electrical engineer. And, morning after coffee packages are a lovely way to round off a wedding - highly recommend.
